Botnet Attack in ‘Cyber Security’!!!
There are good guys working with these tools, as there are with most sorts of malicious cybersecurity attacks. This means that a number of botnets are available for rent, and they will target their botnet towards your servers for a predetermined amount of time and volume in order to test your server’s ability to manage these attacks.
The term “botnet” refers to the use of a botnet to carry out the attack, although what is actually happening is a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack.
In its most basic form, a DDoS attack prevents legitimate users from accessing a networked service by flooding it with requests for access until it can no longer handle the volume of requests.
The rush of connection requests, all at once, makes it impossible for the servers to manage this type of attack, which is time-sensitive. Even if a system is capable of handling the attack, it may nevertheless significantly decrease the service provided, as service providers must consider the economic realities of their situation.
In other words, businesses can’t afford to spend a small fortune planning for traffic volumes they’ll never see. This, unfortunately, makes them vulnerable to DDoS attacks.
